Solar and Battery Repairs in Ipswich and Queensland

Inverter fault diagnosis, battery health checks, backup generator integration and safety compliance for off-grid and hybrid solar installations.

When Your Solar Stops, You Need an Electrician Who Knows Stand-Alone Systems

Most residential solar companies are built for fast, one-day installations on suburban rooftops. When an inverter throws a cryptic red-light error code on a Friday afternoon, or an off-grid battery bank stops taking a charge, those same companies rarely have technicians with the diagnostic gear to track down the root cause.

We specialise in diagnosing and rectifying solar, battery, and backup power equipment across Ipswich, the Lockyer Valley, and regional Queensland properties. From burnt rooftop isolators to faulty DC fuses, communication dropouts between batteries and inverters, or backup generators failing to start when the clouds roll in, we systematically find the fault.

If you bought a property with an existing system and have no paperwork, or your original installer has ceased trading, we provide complete health checks, bring substandard wiring up to AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 5139 safety standards, and issue the Certificate of Testing and Compliance you need for insurance and peace of mind.

Common Repairs and Diagnostic Work

Inverter Diagnostics

Testing isolation resistance, DC input voltages, and board communications to clear persistent fault codes.

Battery Troubleshooting

Diagnosing cell imbalances, BMS shutdown faults, low capacity hold, and charge controller communication errors.

DC Isolator Rectification

Replacing weathered, cracked or water-logged DC isolators with UV-stabilised, compliant enclosures.

Compliance & Auditing

Pre-purchase and safety audits checking labeling, earthing, cable support, and safety switch trip times.

SAFETY COMPLIANCE

Meeting Battery Installation Standard AS/NZS 5139

Battery standards in Australia changed significantly with AS/NZS 5139. Requirements around clearance from windows, doors, and building exits, non-combustible barrier backings, ventilation, and specific signage are mandatory across all grid-connected and off-grid battery systems.

If an older lithium or lead-acid setup was installed without compliant barriers, or if insurance requires an electrical certification on an existing battery room, we inspect the entire layout, perform necessary upgrades, and ensure full compliance.

Every rectification is tested to verify disconnection times, earthing paths, and protection mechanisms before handover.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers About Solar and Battery Repairs

Yes. Orphaned systems are common across Queensland as retail solar companies open and close. We inspect the equipment, diagnose fault codes, test DC isolators and cabling, and take over ongoing maintenance regardless of who originally bolted it to your roof.
Generator auto-start failures usually come down to a failed two-wire start relay, a flat generator starter battery, an uncalibrated inverter voltage trigger, or a communication issue between the battery management system and the inverter. We diagnose the full control loop on site.
We test string voltages, earth continuity, DC isolator seals, battery enclosure clearances and switchboard labeling against AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZS 5139. If work or rectifications are carried out, we issue a Certificate of Testing and Compliance.
Isolation faults (often labeled ISO Fault or Earth Fault) occur when moisture enters a DC rooftop isolator, an MC4 connector corrodes, or rodents chew through cable insulation. It is a genuine fire hazard that trips the inverter off for safety. It requires testing with an insulation resistance tester to isolate the damaged run.
We recommend an annual service for off-grid systems. That includes thermal imaging of breakers and connectors, battery state-of-health logging, generator load testing, inverter firmware verification, and cleaning debris around cooling fans and ventilation grilles.
